Frisco High vs. Newman Smith

Frisco High School started out the 2026 season making a statement Week 1, Blowing out Newman Smith 47-14. With #11 Lowery Asel an Air Force Commit, one of Frisco's wide receiver's, punter's, and kicker's made himself known right away by returning the opening kickoff, then kicking the extra point to take an early lead 7-0 . Once Newman Smith got the ball their drive did not last long with #7 Jayel graham one of Frisco's defensive backs forcing a safety and making Newman Smith punt the ball, which #11 Lowery Asel returned again for another touchdown and another good extra point furthering their lead 16-0. After 2 touchdowns with no response Newman Smith made there way to the board with a rushing touchdown to make the score 16-6 which was the score at the end of the 1st quarter.

Frisco High School wasted no time in the second quarter, and started off with a 5-yard pass completion from #4 Brenden Bounds one of Frisco's quarterbacks to #11 Lowery Asel for a passing touchdown and a good extra point, extending their lead to 23-6 while Lowery Asel picked up his 3rd touchdown of the night. Then Frisco's momentum didn't stop with #4 Brenden Bounds making a long 60-yard pass to #5 Diangelo Hale one of Frisco's wide receivers, this touchdown & extra point widened the Raccoons lead further bringing the score to 30-6. But they weren't done in the first half with little to no time left #4 Brenden Bounds connected with #11 Lowery Asel once again for another passing touchdown and extra point to make the score 37-6, while Lowery Asel picked up his 4th touchdown of the night, and helped his team head into halftime with a comfortable lead of 37-6.

 

Coming out for the second half the Frisco Raccoons were looking for more with #4 Brenden Bounds Completing a pass to #3 Kason Cowan one of Frisco's wide receivers for Brenden  Bounds 4th passing touchdown of the night and Lowery Asel's 4th extra point this brought the score to 44-6 to finish the 3rd quarter. In the 4th quarter Frisco's offense got their hands on the ball again but could not find the end zone on this drive, so they gave the ball to Lowery Asel to kick a field goal bringing the score to 47-6 to widen their lead once more. Now Newman Smith has not responded for 31 consecutive points, and are nearing the end of the game. Newman Smith then pulled together a late rally and scored one final rushing touchdown, to bring this game to a final of 47-14.


Frisco now heads onto their next game against the Reedy Lions 1-0. While Newman Smith Starts their season off 0-1, facing Lebanon Trail this coming week. Without a doubt the most outstanding player of the night was #11 Lowery Asel with stats of 143 total yards and 33 of Frisco's 47 points.
